This is a video I did for the community-based nonprofit Civitas. They focus on land use and transportation issues on the Upper East Side and East Harlem. Together with Alan Jeffries, I filmed the walking tour they organized with Richard Bass, a prominent zoning consultant, and the local Community Board. I then worked with the Executive Director of Civitas, Hunter Armstrong, and Tali Cantor, to create a 7 minute video using the walking tour to explain upcoming zoning advocacy issues to local residents.



I learned a lot about zoning a New York City law and history. Its not a topic I thought I would be that interested in , but it turns out it has a lot of impact on the urban fabric and the feel of the city around you. Living in New York, its always interesting to learn about how the urban environment gets made and unmade.
