The Seafarer
short music film, 2010
The Seafarer is an unusual film. It’s a film adaptation of a piece of theatrical chamber music written for an acting cellist. While playing, the cellist also performs a translation of the Anglo-Saxon poem, The Seafarer, as translated by Burton Raffel. The cello piece, by Kevin Clark, has won numerous prizes and been performed across the country. It was a true adventure finding the right tone for the film and I'm proud that we found something compelling and unique. You can see more info about the latest screenings at Kevin Clark's website.
